Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy
Ridgewood School admits students of any sex, race, religion and ethnic origin. Every student is entitled to the same rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available at Ridgewood. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion or ethnic origin in administration of education policies, admission policies, athletic or other school-administered programs, or in hiring teachers and staff.
Admissions Procedure
A school tour is highly encouraged since the unique atmosphere at Ridgewood can truly only be experienced by a personal visit. During this tour, the Admissions Director can address your personal questions and concerns.
Then, an appointment is made to administer Admissions testing to the prospective student(s), according to their achieved grade levels. Ridgewood administers the abbreviated version of the Stanford Achievement Test, which focuses on the areas of reading, language and math. For pre-Kindergarteners, the Kindergarten Intervention & Diagnostic Services (KIDS) test is administered.
A prospective student is also invited to visit the school for one day if desired.
Copies of test scores are reviewed with the parents/guardians. Upon acceptance for enrollment, a $100 deposit is required to secure the child’s enrollment in a particular grade. This deposit is credited to the tuition. If a family enrolls after June 1 and wishes to pay on a monthly basis, the amount of tuition owed from the beginning of the monthly billing cycles (June 1 or July 1) will be due instead of a $100 deposit.
Applications and other paperwork are completed. The Headmaster and Board of Trustees will review and award all requests for financial aid. Finally, a contract is distributed to the family by the bookkeeper.
